Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

All coaches, players, and parents must keep in mind our Statement of Faith, and that our goal is to honor God through baseball with our thoughts, words, and actions. We want to do everything in our power to represent God and His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, well. This includes, but is not limited to, the following code of conduct when participating in or attending any Texans Baseball function: DO YOUR WORK HEARTILY AS UNTO THE LORD (this is for coaches, players, parents and guests!) 1. Hustle, work hard, have fun! 2. Encourage your teammates. 3. Be respectful of yourself, your team, your opponents and the umpires. 4. Overcome adversity and demonstrate self-control. 5. Strive for excellence and demonstrate grace in failure. 6. Demonstrate a teachable spirit and develop a thankful heart. PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO: 1. Respect all umpire calls and all coaches’ decisions. 2. Remain in the dugout or in the bench area during games unless there is an emergency or you receive permission from one of the coaches to leave. PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO: 1. Respect all umpire calls. 2. Respect all coaches’ decisions 3. Allow the coaches to coach the game and the players to play the game without interference. 4. Save all comments or questions for the coaches and players for the day after the game. Conduct that will NOT be tolerated: 1. No crude, profane or vulgar language. 2. No public displays of affection while in Texans uniform or at Texans sanctioned events (unless married). 3. No throwing of equipment in a display of anger or frustration. 4. No illegal activities at any time. 5. No alcohol or illegal substances while in Texans uniform or at any Texans event. 6. No intoxicated or disorderly behavior while in Texans uniform or at any Texans event. 7. No use of tobacco or nicotine products including e-cigarettes or vapes while in Texans uniform or at Texans event. 8. No viewing of pornography while in Texans uniform or at a Texans event. CONSEQUENCES FOR CONDUCT VIOLATIONS INCLUDE: 1. Some form of extra physical exercise (running, push-ups, etc.) 2. Removal from a game or practice in whole or in part 3. Removal from the competition site 4. Suspension from upcoming games 5. Dismissal from the Texans team or coaching staff CODE OF CONDUCT AGREEMENT These policies regarding character and conduct on the Texans baseball team have been established for your protection, well-being, character development, and to support our Statement of Faith to glorify God through baseball. In light of these principles, the intent is to mentor, educate and grow our players into Godly men. The final decision regarding any issues resides with the coaching staff and The Texans' Board of Directors. The decisions made by the coach and the Board of Directors are final. If you are dismissed from the team for a Code of Conduct violation, you will be responsible for any additional costs, and NO refunds will be given.

Risk Release Waiver

IN CONSIDERATION OF my child/ward being allowed to participate in any way in the Texans Homeschool Athletic Foundation related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that: The risks of injury and illness (ex: communicable diseases such as MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19) to my child from the activities involved in these programs are significant, including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce these risks, the risks of serious injury and illness do exist; and, 1. FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND CHILD, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation; and, 2. I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my child from the participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; and, 3. I myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Texans Homeschool Athletic Foundation ; its directors, officers, officials, agents, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to my child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. 4. I, for myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS all the above Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my involvement or participation in these programs, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE, to the fullest extent permitted by law. 5. I, the parent/guardian, assert that I have explained to my child/ward: the risks of the activity, his/her responsibilities for adhering to the rules and regulations, and that my child/ward understands this agreement. I, FOR MYSELF, MY SPOUSE, AND CHILD/WARD, HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

Photo Use Waiver

I hereby grant permission to the TEXANS HOMESCHOOL ATHLETIC FOUNDATION to use photographs and/or video of me or my child at any Texans’ event taken during the 2024-2025 Baseball season in publications, news releases, online, and in other communications related to the mission of the Texans Homeschool Athletic Foundation.
