Introducing our Annual Registration Fee

Here in Texas, we are blessed to enjoy baseball most of the year. Starting this Summer we have implemented an annual registration fee to support our year-round operations. This fee, paid once per player, covers their involvement with the Texans from June 2024 to May 2025 and helps us keep the costs of each season down.

“If you’re not practicing, somebody else is, somewhere...” – Brooks Robinson

Our Board of Directors meets regularly throughout the year to plan and prepare for summer, fall, and spring baseball. We also work behind the scenes to keep our website updated and to connect with new players and families.

Our coaching staff meets throughout the year to prepare for upcoming seasons and to develop their coaching skills. They work together to offer weekly practices on Mondays at Balcones, as well as cage practices on Fridays twice a month at Outright Fitness. We encourage all Texans to attend as many practices as possible for their personal development. As we approach spring, the coaches will evaluate players for their team assignments during these practices.

Our primary mission is to provide high school athletic opportunities for homeschool athletes. Understanding that many homeschool families operate on tight budgets, we strive to keep participation costs reasonable. This annual fee helps us achieve this goal by reducing the costs each season's players must cover.

If you played baseball with the Texans this summer, the initial registration payment was the annual registration fee, so you are paid up through the end of May 2025. We hope you will continue to attend practice and sign up for the fall and spring teams. If you choose not sign up for those seasons, we encourage you to attend practices as you can to continue your skill development.

If you did not play with us this summer but would like to join us in the fall and/or spring, your first step is to complete the waivers and pay the annual registration fee. After that, you can sign up for the season you are interested in.

Fall registration is now open, with options for both high school and middle school athletes. Our high school athletes will be participating in a league run by RBI in conjunction with FCA. There will be weekly games on Sunday afternoons along with a brief message of encouragement for Christian athletes. Our middle school team will join a local league. We are still discussing options with two different leagues to find the best fit with the right flexibility for our middle school players. We will update the Fall page as soon as we have more information on this option.

Spring registration will open in September. If you are interested in playing baseball with us in the spring, we encourage you to complete the waivers and pay the annual registration fee as soon as possible. This will inform the Coaches of your intentions, and they will begin the team placement process by evaluating you during the Monday and Friday practices. Evaluations will run throughout the fall and culminate in two tryout dates in November. During these tryouts, drills, bullpens, and scrimmages will be conducted before finalizing the Spring rosters for the varsity, JV and freshman teams.

As we all get into a rhythm of year-round activity for the Texans, keep an eye on our Upcoming Events page. This page will feature non-baseball events such as serving opportunities and game nights, as well as our Google calendar with all regular practices. When new seasons start, we will invite you to join the appropriate Game Changer for streamlined season communications, but the Google calendar will always be the primary source for our schedule.

Thank you for joining the Texans community and for trusting us with your player and your family. We look forward to more fun times together on and off the field!
