Our Structure for Homeschool Baseball Players

Why did you choose to homeschool? The reasons to homeschool are varied; from medical necessity to academic flexibility or religious freedom, no two homeschooling families are the same. We at the Texans Homeschool Athletic Foundation believe that homeschooling is a gift to be protected and supported.

Just as each family chooses to homeschool for different reasons and in different ways, we recognize that each athlete has a unique path to pursue and we strive to support them on their journey. The Texans Homeschool Athletic Foundation is not your average high school program: We want to serve the homeschool community by offering a variety of levels of baseball.

We hope the players and their families will find more than just a team here. We hope they will find a community to grow with and support each other on their homeschooling journey.

The Texans' primary focus is to provide baseball opportunities to homeschooled high school athletes. We are creating teams that can rival those offered at area public schools but that also focus on character development and family support. We aim to set our program apart in the way we honor God through the game of baseball. We hope the players and their families will find more than just a team here. We hope they will find a community to grow with and support each other on this homeschooling journey. What commitment level fits with your homeschool?

Level One: Freshman Team

The Freshmen team will provide opportunities for 16U players to develop within the Leander Recreational league as well as through games with local JV2/Freshman teams or select-level middle school teams. This team will not be expected to travel overnight for games.

Level Two: JV Team

The JV team will be expected to travel to Dallas in March for the homeschool tournament and will face competition from 5A & 6A high school JV teams as well as 3A & 4A Varsity teams.

Level Three: Varsity Team

This team requires the highest level of commitment and competition. Players will be expected to prioritize attendance at all practices and games including the tournaments in Dallas and Florida. They will compete with 5A & 6A high school Varsity teams in the area as well as compete in homeschool tournaments in Dallas in March and in Florida in May.

While these team names may be familiar, our intention is to create a flexible lineup of teams that can provide both the quality of competition, flexibility, and freedom of schedules that are so valuable to so many homeschooling families.
